Wayne L. Gross, 72, of Plainfield, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 peacefully at his residence. He was born in Putnam County, Indiana on June 20, 1938, the son of the late Lee H. and Ruby I. (Reedy) Gross.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force and was a System Analysist, retiring in 1992 from Public Service of Indiana.
He is survived by his wife, Julia A. (Steele) Gross; two sons, Jerry and Todd Gross; brother, James Gross; two half sisters, Darlene Goddard, Rhonda Tandy; four half brothers, Don Gross, Larry Rushing, Gary Rushing, Rodney Rushing. He was preceded in death by half sister, Jane Rushing.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hope United Presbyterian Church, 1331 Section St., Plainfield. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 30 at the church. He will be laid to rest at Maplehill Cemetery. Family request donations to American Legion Post 103, 350 E. Main St, Mooresville, IN 46158.
